Description: This photograph shows four members of the Michigan Agricultural College Class of 1862 sitting in chairs for a 1893 class reunion. The four men are A. J. Cook, C. A. Jewell, O. Clute, and F. Hodgman. There is an insert of one other member of the class - E. M. Preston. Three of the men pictures are Civil War veterans. The class of 1862 was the second graduating class at Michigan State. A. J. Cook was a professor of entomology and O. (Oscar) Clute served as president at Michigan State. C. A. Jewell was a farmer, who collaborated with the college in experimental farming techniques. F. Hodgman was the first president of the Alumni Association and an avid poet.
