Sergeant major, Jan. 27, 1863. Commissioned second lieutenant, company G, March 10, 1863. Mustered, April 17, 1863. Killed in action at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 1, 1863. Buried in National Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA.
