Description: Candidates stand around the Queen of the ball. Typed sheet attached to back: June Conklin, Corunna junior, was crowned queen of the Mardi Gras ball Friday night at Michigan State college. She is shown here with the other candidates for the honor, who served as her court during the coronation. Left to right are Joanne Trost, Owosso sophomore, lady in waiting; Doris Baird, Ionia sophomore; Patricia Beechler, Charlotte junior; Miss Conklin, the queen; Ligia Simons-Quiroz, Colon, Panama, junior; Toni Procissi, Flint sophomore; Mary Kelly, Detroit sophomore, lady in waiting; and Peggy Rogers, Flint junior. Proceeds from the dance will go into the Spartan Victory Loan fund, and will be converted into scholarships for returning war veterans.
