Description: The new Spartan statue is unveiled before a crowd during Welcome Week in August 2005. The official dedication of the statue took place in October of that same year, but the artists warned that condensation from leaving the statue covered could cause discoloration to its exterior. Present at the unveiling are the Sparty mascot, members of the Spartan Marching Band, head of the MSU Sesquicentennial Celebration Sue Carter, MSU Provost Kim Wilcox, and MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon.
