Description: Highlights from the May 1928 Michigan State College (MSC) Track meet against Detroit City College. Lyle Henson captures the 100-yard dash, and MSC places 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the mile. Detroit wins the 880 yard relay, but MSC's Harold McAtee wins in the pole vault. Michigan State alumni Fred Alderman attempts the world record for the 175-yard dash in the presence of Charles Brennan, President of the Michigan branch of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Alderman would go on to compete in the 1928 Olympics. Final score: MSC 85, Detroit 46. 16mm | black and white | silent
