Description: A digitization of a VHS tape transfer from 16mm film. Gus Ganakas, before his career as Michigan State University's head basketball coach from 1969-1976, was the basketball coach for the East Lansing High School (ELHS) Trojans from 1952-1964. This film begins with a holiday party, then proceeds with footage from his early years with ELHS. Highlights from games against the Coldwater Cardinals (December 7, 1956 and December 19, 1958), Adrian Maples (January 13, 1959) and Three Rivers Wildcats (January 3, 1958) are included, along with humorous interludes from photographer Gib Butler. There is no sound on this moving image.
