Title: Campus Referendum on Indochina
Original Date: May 6, 1970 Digital Date: August 16, 2016

Subject: Vietnam

Description: In May 1970, President Wharton suggested that a campus-wide petition be circulated to gauge campus sentiments regarding United States involvement in Indochina, particularly in Cambodia. The results of the referendum show that the vast majority of respondents are not in favor of the War, and that they prefer a withdrawal of some kind from the region. Roughly a quarter of the student population was polled.
